#14: John Urschel, Mind and Matter: A Life in Math and Football
A great memoir from a fascinating person, who was so good at both math and football that he managed to play in the NFL while also pursuing a PhD at MIT. He effectively describes what he finds so compelling about higher mathematics, and how it eventually lured him away from an equally compelling and more lucrative athletic career. I'm honestly envious that he's so passionate about and accomplished in even one field, let alone two, but you can't help rooting for the guy.
