#18: A. Lee Martinez, The Last Adventure of Constance Verity (Constance Verity #1)

I picked this up on a whim at the library because it looked like it would be a fun read along the lines of Christopher Moore, and it was. Constance Verity is a female action hero dialed to 11. Adventure follows her everywhere, and she's getting sick of it. She's been saving the world since she was seven years old and she just wants a chance to live a normal life, but fate won't let her off the hook. So she decides to take matters into her own hands with the help of her childhood best friend Tia, who is as ordinary as Connie is extraordinary.

Female BFFs, snarky humor, and a playground of genre tropes to gleefully stomp across? Yes, yes, and yes.
