#48: Robin Hobb, Royal Assassin (Farseer Trilogy #2)
This book was more tolerable to me than the first one. The protagonist, Fitz, has grown up and earned respect and even, from some, affection - so his life isn't quite as miserable as it was, although he still has some vicious enemies. The ending was quite surprising.
