This installment of the series about young ghost hunters in London takes an intriguing turn as the action shifts away from solving the case of the week and instead highlights the evolving relationship between Lucy and Lockwood. It elegantly illuminates Lucy's internal uncertainties and insecurities, while still giving the third member of the crew, George, a chance to let his talents shine as well. There are also plenty of hints of conspiracy and revenge to come in future installments. Overall, I would say this book is where the story has gone from good to great, which is a rare and rewarding experience.
