Overall I liked this book better than the end of the first Shadowhunter trilogy, although the final confrontation was less dramatic (apart from Tessa's climactic transformation, which was very satisfying). I still have a problem with unbelievable villains, and the sequence of events was a bit shaky, but at the end of the previous book all I cared about was the resolution of the love triangle between the three main characters, which was ultimately managed in a surprising but satisfactory manner. There were two other bonus cute couples as well, one of whom almost certainly ended up being the great-grandparents of some of the main characters in the original trilogy.
I wasn't really interested in picking up City of Lost Souls because I was tired of Jace and Clary, but now I wonder if any of the characters and events from the Clockwork trilogy will make an appearance there as well.
