#42: Fonda Lee, Jade War (Green Bone Saga #2)

Typical middle-of-a-trilogy type of book that I mostly skimmed, but there were just enough pivotal moments to remind me what was compelling to me about this story, despite the fact that it contains an off-putting amount of sex and violence. While both of the primary warrior clans are vicious and often barbaric, the protagonists are sympathetic because of their love and devotion to each other. They evolve over time, weathering tragedies and triumphs, and I hope that they will eventually win out over their more ruthless enemies.
