The plot of this book makes very little sense, which would be okay if it were an amusing character study, but it completely fails in that regard as well. Instead we have random people stumbling around New York City trying to figure out why the internet is gone and, failing that, staging real-life reenactments of their favorite websites. It reminded me of Shutter Island in that there's a tragedy that the main character is blocking out, but even that didn't excuse the lack of coherence.
