kareila: a lady in glasses holding a stack of books (books)

This was a very detailed, trivia-filled memoir of a British astronaut's experiences traveling to space, living for six months on the International Space Station, and returning to Earth. It's intended to answer the questions he is most frequently asked about being an astronaut, but it's also loosely structured as a narrative of his selection, training, launch, mission, and landing. I found it very helpful to have read the section that describes what happens when a Soyuz launch is aborted just before the recent failed Soyuz launch; most of my immediate questions had already been answered. Although not as introspective as Mike Massimino's Spaceman, it is just as informative, and Peake has his own set of unique experiences to share, most memorably his participation in the 2016 London Marathon by running the required distance on the space station's treadmill.
