Her story affected me more deeply than the others because her tragedy wasn’t that her family was terrible or rejected her. She was a smart, lonely girl who wanted a place to belong. But when she found it, she was torn between the love of her new home and her connection to the family she left behind. When she tries to find a way to have both, she loses everything.
