Cora was a lot more traumatized by her experience in the Moors than I had realized; so traumatized that here she requests a transfer to a stricter school, the Whitethorn Institute, that claims to be able to help her forget the things that haunt her nightmares. But she may only be trading one kind of nightmare for another...
I appreciated Cora's heroic inner journey here, and also seeing Regan again, but I still want more Kade and/or Christopher next time around. And there will be a next time; the publisher has announced at least three more books over the next three years. Following the pattern, book 8 will be another backstory, and I'm guessing it will explore what happened to Antoinette, Cora's new roommate.
