I hadn't planned to get around to reading this for a while, because horror tropes aren't really my thing, but one of my best friends recently got me hooked on the game Plants vs Zombies, so I was in the mood for more zombies.
This book is fantastic. Which is not to say I have no complaints - the actions of the villain, in particular, don't really hold up to scrutiny unless you dismiss him and everyone who took orders from him as batshit crazy. But I loved the heroes, their ideals and their quirks, and I cried for them.
