#29: Seanan McGuire, Midnight Blue-Light Special (Incryptid #2)

This sequel to Discount Armageddon felt even more like a season finale episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer than the first book did. That said, Verity's Scooby gang gets to really shine here; Sarah the cuckoo and Istas the waheela are particularly awesome. The questions left hanging from the first story are all neatly resolved, and the heroes ride off into the sunset. The author's endnote says that subsequent installments will focus on Verity's older brother Alex, aka Sir Not Appearing In This Book.
