I think I stumbled across this via one of those "you may also like" recommendations, and it has a lot of the right ingredients - girl comes into her power and saves the world, books are terrifying but also wonderful, love conquers all - but it didn't quite gel into a compelling whole, and I skimmed a lot. Maybe it was the overly obvious nefarious plot, maybe it was the inevitable romance with the emotionally wounded sorcerer determined to keep the world at arm's length... I enjoyed the parts about the books, though. "This is a library - do they expect that the books won't try to bite off their fingers?"
