I decided to skim through this before seeing The Rise of Skywalker tonight. The story here picks up immediately after the events of The Last Jedi, with the Millennium Falcon seeking a safe place to shelter and regroup. They find that on the Twi'lek planet Ryloth, where Leia reconnects with an old friend who owes her a favor. Most of Leia's other former colleagues are either in hiding or in prison. Desperate for more leaders and more ships with which to rebuild the Resistance, she sends her ragtag group of survivors on a dangerous mission to gather both.

There's not much of import here that I could discern. Leia and Poe get the most time on the page, trying to forge hope from desperation. Finn, Rey, Chewie, and the droids are nominally present but criminally underused. Maz Kanata makes a typically brief, enigmatic appearance. We discover that one of the Resistance pilots, Snap Wexley (the one played by Greg Grunberg), is the stepson of Wedge Antilles, and Wedge himself shows up for some of the action. There's also a nice coda to Bloodline in that we find out the fate of Ransolm Casterfo. For the most part, though, the story itself is inconsequential fluff in the grander scheme of things.
