Surprisingly good collection of four novellas set in the pleasure city of Canto Bight, each taking place on the same night and containing overlapping places and characters. Saladin Ahmed's slim opening contribution was a bit on the silly side, with a protagonist straight out of a Douglas Adams novel, but the other three stories were engaging, both fun and surprisingly touching. My favorite was probably the one by Rae Carson, about an alien massage therapist forced to turn assassin in order to save his adopted human daughter.
