This series seems to work better for me when there is a longer plot arc to follow and not just relationships and feelings (although those are nice). This collection starts out with a forgettable standalone issue where the girls are telling each other spooky stories around a campfire, and the remaining three issues are spent following Mal and Molly on their accidental trip to another dimension while the other three girls try desperately to earn even one boringly normal Lumberjanes badge, just to prove that they can be proficient at activities more mundane than defeating monsters and solving supernatural mysteries. Jen the camp counselor (my favorite character) barely appears at all.
