kareila_booksI liked the characters and world building here, sort of like a small Hogwarts except instead of wizards, the students are children who have been to magical worlds and returned. Unfortunately the story took a grisly turn halfway through that I found hard to stomach. The book also could easily have been twice as long - it felt very rushed. Interested to see how the series develops, though.
