This slim MIT Press book is an interesting window into the career of Kathy Sullivan, one of the first female American astronauts. The narrative's primary focus is on how she and Bruce McCandless were key to modifying the design of the Hubble Space Telescope to be easily maintained and upgraded after being deployed in orbit. That effort paid rich dividends over the subsequent 20 years, until the end of the shuttle program made further servicing missions impossible.
