#29: Becky Chambers, The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet (Wayfarers #1)

I decided to try again with this book after liking the second and third books of the series so well. My existing familiarity with the story universe helped me appreciate the details better, but I was still underwhelmed. The plot comes across as a random series of encounters that exist only for the sake of character development, which would be great for a TV series but isn't generally what I look for in a novel.
